JAKARTA OpenAI and Argentine energy company Sur Energy have signed a letter of interest to build a giant data center project in Argentina with an investment value of up to 25 billion US dollars (around Rp408.25 trillion). This information was announced by the Argentine government on Friday 10 October.
According to an official statement, the project will include facilities with a capacity of up to 500 megawatts designed to support advanced artificial intelligence (AI) computing.
This project will be carried out under the RIGI tax incentive scheme imposed by the Argentine government since last year. If realized, the government said the project would be one of the largest technological initiatives and energy infrastructure in the country's history.
