Webex Presents 3D Design Collaboration For Apple Vision Pro In The Company World

JAKARTA Apple Vision Pro is deepening into the world of work. Webex now allows teams to jointly review and manipulate 3D models and real-time through these headsets.

At the 2025 WebexOne event, Cisco announced a new feature called "3D Model Collaboration" for the Webex app on the Apple Vision Pro. This feature allowed the team to upload, manipulate, and review 3D models together during the meeting.

This is Apple's attempt to prove that this headset for $3,499 (Rp58.4 million) has the role of more than just a technology demonstration or experiment in the family space. Cisco's collaboration takes advantage of Apple's "spatial computing" Vision Pro, which allows meeting participants to interact with the same model in real-time. Co-workers can rotate, enlarge, and point to the features on the object, as if the object was on the table in front of them.

Since its launch in February 2024, Apple Vision Pro has struggled to sell as a mass product. Consumers have objected to the limited price, weight, and battery life. Although this headset is very sophisticated, the experience of watching movies or browsing Safari in the air is not enough to justify its price.

Therefore, corporate devices such as those offered by Cisco are the best opportunities for Apple to build momentum. If Apple Vision Pro could save the company's travel costs, accelerate product cycles, or improve training, its economic value would make more sense.

Industries such as automotive, architectural, and health are the clearest targets. For example, automakers can review the prototype without having to fly engineers around the world. An architect can guide clients to see building designs before starting construction. The Faculty of Medicine can also train students about anatomy without the need for expensive physical models.

The challenge is scale. Apple has sold less than a million Vision Pro units worldwide. Complementing a small team alone requires huge costs, making this technology a solution that is still very cheap rather than being a standard in the workplace.

However, this new feature can now be used by Webex users on the Apple Vision Pro. This app can be downloaded via the App Store, and anyone with Webex credentials can use it. Cisco offers this feature even for users of standard free accounts, but their main target is a company that already subscribes to the Webex service.
