Largest Acquisition, EA Purchased By PIF, Silver Lake, Affinity Worth IDR 900 Trillion

JAKARTA - Electronic Arts Inc. (EA), a global game company from the United States, officially signed an acquisition agreement with a consortium of investors consisting of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners.

The transaction value reached around 55 billion US dollars (equivalent to Rp900 trillion), making it the largest take-private cash sponsor acquisition in history.

Under the agreement, the Consortium will acquire 100% EA shares, with PIF maintaining its 9.9% stake in the company.

EA shareholders will receive 210 US dollars per cash share. This price represents a premium of 25% of EA's share price of 168.32 US dollars at the close of the September 25, 2025 market.

"This moment is a strong acknowledgment of their extraordinary work. In the future, we will continue to push for boundaries of entertainment, sports and technology, opening up new opportunities," said Andrew Wilson, Chairman & CEO of Electronic Arts.

PIF, Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners bring deep sector experiences, strong capital, and global portfolios in the fields of games, entertainment, and sports.

This acquisition will open up unique opportunities for EA to combine physical and digital experiences, increase fan engagement, and create new growth opportunities.

Transactions have been approved by the EA Board of Directors, expected to be completed in Q1 FY27, depending on regular closure conditions, including regulatory approval and EA shareholders.

PIF insists that this investment is in line with their focus on the global gaming and esports sector, while Silver Lake views EA as industry leader with solid financial performance.

Affinity Partners CEO Jared Kushner called this acquisition a big step for the company with a bold vision for the future of entertainment.

EA will remain headquartered in Redwood City, California, with Andrew Wilson continuing his leadership as CEO.
