JAKARTA - Amazon introduced new AI agent technology into the Seller Assistant service, a digital assistant designed to support sellers in managing businesses on the e-commerce platform.

"The AI capability of agents, allowing AI not only responds, but also regulates, plans, and takes action with the seller's permission," the company wrote in its official announcement quoted Thursday, September 18.

Supported by Amazon Bedrock, as well as the foundational models of Amazon Nova and Anthropic Claude, this new capability allows Seller Assistant to handle various things, from routine operations to complex business strategies, so sellers can focus on innovation and growth.

Amazon insists this AI agent can help sellers optimize inventory and shipping via Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), monitor account health, navigate product compliance regulations, to design professional advertising through the Creative Studio feature.

In addition, Seller Assistant is also able to provide an in-depth analysis of sales patterns, consumer behavior, and recommendations for the new product category.

Currently, more than 60% of sales on Amazon come from independent sellers. Amazon hopes this new technology will help them save time, reduce operating costs, as well as accelerate business growth.

The AI-based Seller Assistant is already available to sellers in the United States and will expand to the global market in the coming months, at no additional cost.
