Motorola Starts Release Of Android 16 Stable Updates

JAKARTA - Motorola has started rolling out the stable update of Android 16 after going through a beta testing process that started in June for selected devices. Beta testing is then extended to more models in the weeks and months to follow. Now, stable Android 16 updates are officially rolled out for several Motorola devices.

The Motorola Edge 60 Pro is the first phone from the company to receive a stable update of Android 16. This update was detected in Brazil with a version of the W1VV36H.7-21-5 firmware and a download size of around 2GB. Not only that, this update is also becoming available to users of the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion in Mexico, with a firmware version W1UU36H.21-14-3 and a download size of 1.54GB.

Android 16 updates for these two devices are currently available in certain areas, but are expected to expand to other regions soon. Motorola Edge 60 Pro or Edge 50 Fusion users can check the availability of updates by going to Settings > System > Advanced > Systems and tapping Update Checks.

However, these changes do not mention some of the interesting features of Android 16 that Google introduced, such as Live Updates to track activity without opening an app, smart notification clustering, integrated photo voters, improvements in predictive back features, HDR screenshots, and new emojis. It's not clear if Motorola has included some of these features in the update to both devices.
