Albania Appoints AI As Minister, Komdigi: Already Entering The Era Of Posthumanism

JAKARTA - Albania has just made history by appointing artificial intelligence (AI) as one of the ministers authorized to make public decisions.

Director General of Digital Ecosystems of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, considers this step a signal of the entry of a new era in human relations with technology.

Edwin explained, since the genrative AI (GenAI) was launched on a large scale in November 2021 through ChatGPT, artificial intelligence has grown rapidly.

Last year, there was even the AI Agentic, which made this technology capable not only of producing creative works, but also of being able to make decisions independently.

He highlighted how this phenomenon reflects the shift in paradigms in view of technology. If previously AI was positioned as a collaborator, now a number of countries are starting to go further.

"In other countries, Albania, the UAE has entered the Posthumanism, how the relationship between humans and technology becomes blurry. It is no longer a collaborator, but as part of the evolution of mankind," he explained.

Edwin emphasized that this phenomenon illustrates how AI began to be placed not only as a tool, but also part of the journey of human evolution in the digital era.
