BRIN And UNSURYA Explor Collaboration Opportunities In Strengthening Space Research

JAKARTA - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Aerospace University, Marshal Suryadarma (UNSURYA) are exploring opportunities to work together in strengthening the research ecosystem in the space sector.

This cooperation opportunity arose after the UNSURYA group visited the BRIN Space Research Center in Bandung. The group discussed directly various collaborations they could run in the research sector.

Head of the BRIN Space Research Center, Emanuel Sungging Mumpuni, explained that BRIN is focusing on strengthening research in the fields of Space Situational Awareness, Astronomy, and Astrophysics. The hope is that this collaboration can be in line with this focus.

BRIN offers several potential research topics. Starting from space weather and ionospheric dynamics to the development of space missions. This offer was welcomed by UNSURYA. The college also expressed interest in other developments.

They are interested in developing top atmospheric modules and utilizing the Timau National Observatory. There is no clarity on what kind of cooperation the two will run together.

This collaboration will involve the development of Human Resources (HR). After the two officially partnered, the Head of the BRIN Astronomy and Observatory Research Group Thomas Djamaluddin stated that BRIN would open the Degree By Research (DbR) program.
