JAKARTA - Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH) and Mastercard, together with the Financial Technology Association (AFTECH), announced the launch of the Indonesian branch of the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA).
The second GASA branch launched in Southeast Asia after the first branch in Singapore was intended to address the high level of digital fraud in the country, by gathering stakeholders in various sectors.
This Indonesian branch will be led by Indosat as the First Chair, with Mastercard and AFTECH as Deputy Chairs, as well as leading organizations such as DANA, Google, GSMA, Meta, Shopee, and Tech for Good Institute joining this coalition.
The branch will focus on exchanging information between industry, public education campaigns, and policy innovation to strengthen trust and digital security.
"This Indonesian representative represents a united coalition, incorporating industry, government, and civil society to protect the public and restore trust," said Reski Damayanti as Chief Legal & Regulatory Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and Chairman of GASA Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Country Manager of Indonesia, Mastercard, and Deputy Chair of GASA Indonesia, Badminton Goh revealed that this second branch combines the expertise of each industry, in fighting digital fraud.
"This alliance serves as a vital bridge that connects Indonesia with the global network of anti-fraud alliances, gathers cross-sectoral organizations to share information, best practices, and encourage collective action," he added.

By joining GASA, Indonesia is part of a global network of leading public, private and international organizations working together to fight fraud and strengthen consumer protection.
The Indonesian GSA branch will make efforts to promote national consumer protection, including education and anti-fraud awareness campaigns, research, and encourage greater collaboration between the public and private sectors in fighting fraud.
The main initiative currently being promoted by GSA Indonesia is research on the "Condition of Fraud in Indonesia", which will provide the latest insight into the landscape of local threats, the latest fraudulent tactics, to the knowledge needed by stakeholders.
