JAKARTA - In the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), Alibaba officially launched the latest large multimodal model (LMM) solution specifically designed for the smart cockpit of vehicles, with Qwen technology support.
Alibaba said that this technology was developed with Qualcomm, a global leader in the semiconductor sector, and Banma, Alibaba's provider of smart cockpit solutions.
Built on top of the capabilities of visual and multimodal understanding of the Qwen model, the system is run on top of Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8397 platform.
With this combination of technologies, Alibaba claims, the system promises a more natural, intuitive, and proactive AI experience for users.
"This innovation reinforces Alibaba's position as a leader in the application of a generating AI, by presenting smart solutions that are not only technologically superior, but also closely integrated in everyday life," said Jingren Zhou, CTO Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.
At the center of this ecosystem, there are Yan AI, a smart assistant made by Banma, who utilizes natural language skills, visual processing, and contextual reasoning from Qwen.

With Yan AI, drivers can use natural voice commands to do various things, from booking restaurant tables, buying cinema tickets, asking for navigation, to finding the fastest route.
Not only that, Yan AI is also able to anticipate user needs, for example, by suggesting adjusting cabin temperature or recommending music playlists during long trips, so that driving experiences become more comfortable and personal.
