JAKARTA - Microsoft officially launched a new feature called Copilot Mode in the Edge browser, which serves to provide a smarter and more efficient web browsing experience, by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

In its official announcement, the tech giant said that Copilot Mode was a revolutionary move that changed the way users interacted with the web.

So, if previously the browsing activity was only linear in nature, open the tab, seek information, read pages, repeat 'then the presence of Copilot Mode can make tracing smarter, such as predicting user needs, helping to compare information, to completing tasks automatically.

"Copilot not only serves a row of tabs, but works as a collaborator who helps you understand everything. This mode keeps you focused, filters out the annoyances, and removes obstacles," Microsoft said on its blog.

When Copilot Mode is enabled, users will see a clean new tab page with one input box that combines search, navigation and conversation functions.

Copilot can also read the context of other tabs that are currently open to providing relevant assistance ranging from comparing products, finding the best recommendations, to providing smart suggestions according to user activity.

One of the interesting features is the integration of natural voice navigation, where users talk enough to ask Copilot to open a tab, search for information, or compare options.

However, Microsoft promised to continue to improve and add new features to Copilot Mode in line with its future developments.

Even in the near future, Copilot will be able to guide you in various tasks and set browsing history. For example, if you're researching how to start an online business, Copilot can recognize it and suggest a tutorial or website creation method.

Microsoft insists that this feature is fully optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time via Edge settings. User data remains protected with Microsoft's strict privacy standards.

Copilot Mode is available starting today for Windows and Mac users in all Copilot markets, including Indonesia. However, this feature is only available free of charge for a limited time, and users can immediately try it through the aka.ms/copilot-mode site.
