The AI Mode Feature In Google Search Is Used By More Than 100 Million People Per Month

JAKARTA - Google revealed that artificial intelligence (AI) technology plays an important role in increasing the use of its search services. Not only expanding the way users access information, but also encouraging new questions that were previously unimaginable.

"We see AI driving the expansion of the way people seek and access information, opening up possibilities for new types of questions that have not previously been submitted to Google," said Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai in his blog.

Google notes that search volumes including for commercial queries continue to increase on an annual basis. One of the main drivers of this growth is the presence of new AI-based features, such as AI Overviews and AI Mode.

AI Overviews, which provides an AI-based summary of search results, is now backed by Gemini 2.5, Google's newest AI model. The technology, which is claimed to be able to provide the fastest response, has succeeded in increasing the number of global queries by more than 10%.

"We also see strong growth in the use of Search multi-modal, particularly the combination between Lens or Circle to Search and AI Overviews. This growth is the most prominent among young users," he added.

Google has also started rolling out the AI Mode feature, an AI-based end-to-end search experience. This feature received a positive response, even now, AI Mode is already used by more than 100 million monthly active users in the United States and India.

Going forward, Google plans to continue to improve AI Mode by presenting additional features such as Deep Search, advanced research tools designed to dig deeper into information, as well as a more personal response to each user.

"We plan to continue to improve the AI Mode experience for users by presenting great features quickly. Including sophisticated Deep Search research tools and a more personal response," concluded Pichai.
