JAKARTA YouTube has launched a number of new features into Shorts. This series of free features based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being launched in stages to a number of countries.

These features are launched to make it easier for creators to develop their content. In addition, creators can also create content in a more enjoyable way such as making photos into videos or adding other effects.

The photo-changer feature is becoming a popular video on several platforms and YouTube is interested in presenting this feature on its platform. With this tool, creators can turn their photos into dynamic videos.

To use this feature, YouTube Shorts creators only need to select the image they want, then select creative advice so that AI can create the most interesting videos. After that, the photo will move like an animation.

"This service will be launched now and over next week, free of charge, in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with more areas coming this year," YouTube said on its official website, quoted on Thursday, July 24.

YouTube also adds a new generative effect that can turn graffiti into a unique image. For example, just by making a scribble, AI can make the user scribble into an animal or other object image.

Users can also convert selfies into unique videos, such as swimming underwater, or pairing with twin brothers. To use this effect, creators can tap the Effect icon on the Shorts camera, then select AI to search for the various generative effects available.

This Photo to Video feature and generative effects are supported by Veo 2 technology. YouTube also announced that Veo 3 will be on YouTube Shorts later this summer.

In addition, all of these AI-based tools are integrated with Synthed. The addition of watermarks is done to show that the creations are made with the help of AI. This is important to distinguish AI-made and man-made content.
