The Government Encourages The Batamindo Area To Become A National AI Development Center

JAKARTA - The government is committed to making industrial areas such as Batamindo an important part of the national artificial intelligence (AI) technology development ecosystem.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria stated that the government is taking strategic steps to realize national digital transformation.

"We want to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure," said Nezar in his official broadcast while reviewing the Batamindo industrial area.

According to Nezar Patria, the mastery of cutting-edge technology or deep tech, such as AI, is a strategic element in the current global competition map, both in terms of geopolitical and economic terms.

"We know that new technology or what we know as well as deep tech is a very strategic point in terms of geopolitical and economics. Who controls this technology, he will be dominant at the global level," he said.

Nezar also stated the important meaning of cross-sectoral collaboration between the government, industry players, and the economic zone so that the national grand strategy in the development of AI technology can run effectively and sustainably.

"Komdigi is downstream utilizing infrastructure built by industry, but in one big design, we cannot work alone. We must collaborate and synergize so that everything is in line with the big strategy outlined by the government," he explained.

This visit is also intended to explore various cross-sector strategic initiatives, including policy formulations that could encourage the growth of the national digital industry.

"We visited to see several strategic initiatives that can be carried out between sectors, including the private sector, especially Batamdo. The government will provide various policies that accelerate the growth process of this industry," he said.
