JAKARTA PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) developed two flying taxis named Vela Alpha and Intercrus Sola. These two taxis were exhibited at the Indo Defense 2025 event some time ago.

Reporting from the detikfinance report, Vela Alpha was assembled with PT Vela Prima Nusantara. The hope, both Vela Alpha mapun Intercrus Sola, can be commercialized in 2028. Both will work with different workloads.

Vela Alpha is slightly larger with a capacity of seven people. Thus, only six passengers can enter along with one pilot. Meanwhile, Intercrus Sola is able to carry five passengers to the maximum.

However, this number of transport also depends on the weight of the passenger. The Alpha Vela is capable of carrying a cargo load of 550 kilograms, including the pilot, while Intercrus Sola is only able to carry a load of 360 kilograms.

These two flying taxis also have different flight speeds. Vela Alpha relies on driving energy with a 1MW capacity battery. This flying taxi is capable of traveling 100 kilometers with a hybrid battery or 500 kilometers at a speed of 250km/hour.

Intercrus Sola, with a lighter load, can only reach a maximum distance of 100 kilometers at a speed of 150km/hour. In addition to being slower, this flying taxi can only reach a maximum altitude of 3,000 meters.

Before operating, these two flying taxis will be tested first. Both are expected to start trials next year, while flight certification is expected to be fulfilled by 2027.
