JAKARTA In early May, Meta was seen developing a summary feature based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) on WhatsApp. Now, this feature called Summarize with Meta AI is starting to be publicly tested.

Based on WABetaInfo's findings, WhatsApp began testing the feature in the beta version 2.25.18.18 for Android devices. Testers registered in the app version can already try the application powered by Meta AI.

This feature will be available in various chat rooms, both private and group. When users get a lot of messages and don't have much time to read their message bubbles one by one, they can use the feature.

Summarize with Meta AI will be available to testers who have enabled Personal Processing in application settings. Whenever users get a lot of messages, they will see a button to summarize the message.

Later, users will see a Meta AI pop-up window containing a message summary. The virtual assistant will highlight the important points of the message sent by the user again. That way, users will not miss important conversations.

All messages summarized are safely processed through Personal Processing, a system specifically designed by WhatsApp to protect user privacy at various stages. This system will guarantee the security and privacy of all messaging content.

Even though it is processed by AI, the message content will not be taken out by the system. Personal processing will ensure that all messages remain protected and no one can access from outside the device, including WhatsApp and Meta.
