JAKARTA - Xiaomi has officially opened a pre-order for Smart Door Lock 2 Vein Recognition Enhanced Edition in China. This product is already available on JD.com at a price of 1,699 yuan (around 235 US dollars), and the first sale will start on June 10, 2025.
Xiaomi's latest Smart Lock uses a finger blood vessel scanning technology with near-infrared light, which is claimed to be more accurate and reliable, especially for users with outdated fingerprints or skin problems.
This technology is very suitable for the elderly and children who often have difficulty unlocking their fingerprints. The AI algorithm used continues to study and improve recognition accuracy so that they can recognize users in less than a second with an error rate below 0.0001 percent.
This smart key supports 10 key opening methods, including AI-based blood vessels and fingerprint scanning, permanent passwords, disposable passwords, regular passwords, open via Bluetooth smartphones, mechanical keys, NFC cards, as well as Xiaomi smart devices such as cell phones, smartwatches, and smart bracelets.
One of the other unique features is smart eyedoors' with 2MP sensors in the inside of the house. This smart lock uses a lithium 5000mAh battery that can last up to about four months. If it runs out, there is a backup of four AA batteries that can increase endurance by up to six months. If both resources run out, users can still charge emergency power through the Type-C port.
