JAKARTA - In the Google I/O 2025 event, Google announced a series of new Gemini artificial intelligence-based features (AI) to Workspace users including in Gmail and Google Docs.

First for Gmail, Google launched a personalized smart reply feature, where Gemini will suggest replies that match the user's context and style of language, and will be publicly available by the end of 2025.

"By taking from old emails and Google Drive, Gemini provides response suggestions with more relevant and targeted specific details," Google said in its announcement.

In addition, Google also introduced an inbox cleanup feature that allows users to delete or archive emails that are not needed with just one voice or text command.

For example, users simply say, Delete all unreaded emails from last year, and Gemini will carry out the command instantly. This feature will be publicly available in the following quarter.

There is also fast appointment scheduling integration in Gmail, where Gemini will detect when users want to schedule a meeting, then automatically suggest an order page that can be shared directly from Gmail. This feature will also come in general next quarter.

Whereas in Google Docs, Gemini now supports source-grounded writing, which allows users to link relevant documents, data, or presentations into documents being written.

Gemini will only use these sources to provide writing advice, so that the results of the writing remain focused, accurate, and free from irrelevant information. This feature will be publicly available in the following quarter.
