JAKARTA - NTT DATA released the latest data showing that manufacturing industry players around the world are increasingly using GenAI for their business.

Reports involving more than 500 leaders and decision makers in the manufacturing sector of these 34 countries show that 95 percent of respondents globally state that GenAI has had a direct impact on their efficiency and business performance improvements.
94 percent of global respondents and 99 percent of respondents in Asia Pacific also believe that data integration from Internet of Things (IoT) and edge computing devices into the GenAI model will significantly increase the accuracy and relevance of AI results.
Meanwhile, 91 percent of respondents globally and 97 percent in Asia Pacific believe that the combination between GenAI and digital twin technology will provide a significant increase in the performance of physical assets and supply chain resilience.

In practice, respondents said that GenAI is most often used for supply and inventory chain management, knowledge management, quality control, research and development, and process automation.
Seeing this fact, NTT DATA believes that GenAI can help businesses or organizations become more flexible in the midst of existing changes.
"GenaI can help organizations become more flexible amid rapid business changes, especially when facing global tariff policy uncertainty," he concluded.
