YouTube Tests Premium Packages For Two People

JAKARTA YouTube is testing a new subscription package for two people in several countries. The testing of this premium package has been confirmed by Google, the owner of the video platform.

Google states that this duo package provides convenience for people who want to subscribe together, but do not have enough friends or relatives. With the duo package, users can share premium services at a lower price.

"We are experimenting with new ways," Google said, quoted through Money Control. "(we) offer a Premium package option for two people, allowing two people to share subscriptions at a lower cost."

Reportedly, this new subscription package is only available in four countries, namely India, France, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. It is not yet known whether Google will expand testing of this subscription package to other countries.

The concept of subscribing to a duo package is almost the same as other packages. Main account holders can share facilities with other account owners over the age of 13. That way, users can pay for the package with friends or relatives.

Despite paying for the same package, users can continue their respective accounts. Both can access all Premium features such as Smart Downloads and offline playback, but with a spectacle that is definitely separate.

In India, packages for two people are indeed cheaper than the Family package which accommodates more than two accounts. Packages of two people are charged a fee of 219 rupees (Rp. 42 thousand), while the Family package needs to pay 299 rupees (Rp. 58 thousand).

The price of this duo package is also much cheaper than the Individual package. If users want to subscribe to themselves without sharing with any party, they have to pay 149 rupees (Rp29 thousand). Of course, this entire price will be much more expensive in Indonesia.
