JAKARTA Spotify quietly launched settings to turn off the smart shuffle feature. If the user is disturbed by this playlist random feature, you can now disable the feature.

Smart shuffle was first introduced in 2023. As the name implies, this feature will mess up your playlist, but not like the usual shuffle feature. When this feature is active, users will hear songs that are not added to the playlist.

This happens because Spotify combines song recommendations when you play songs from a playlist. These recommendations will be added among the songs you like. Some may like this feature, while others don't.

The reason is, Spotify can recommend songs that don't match the taste of its users. Imagine if you're playing a favorite playlist, then a song you don't like appears, it will interfere with your listening experience.

Fortunately, there is a new way to get this menu out of your playlist. According to reports by a number of Reddit users, citing from Techradar, they got a foreign button in the settings, namely the 'Enable all play mode' button.

Spotify adds an explanation at the bottom of its feature that reads, "If it's enabled, you can select Linear, shuffle, and Smart shuffle playback modes on your playlist. Disable to remove the Smart shuffle option."

That is, if you press the toggle button in the menu, you still get the smart shuffle feature. However, if the button toggle is turned off, the smart shuffle feature will not reappear. Apparently, this feature is still rolling out in stages because not all Spotify apps get the menu.
