ESR MagMouse: The First Mouse In The World That Can Stick To Laptops

JAKARTA - ESR's peripheral manufacturer extends its magnetic expertise to a new realm: wireless mouse. The company recently launched MagMouse at Kickstarter, a sleek wireless mouse that can attach magnetically to laptops and tablets for convenience of being carried anywhere.

This mouse is designed for users who often move between meetings, classrooms, or workplaces. This mouse is also equipped with a built-in USB-C charging cable so you don't have to look for cables anymore.

MagMouse's main concept is about portability and comfort. This mouse can stick magnetically through a removable base and equipped with 3M glue that can be reused.

Weighing only 75 grams, and ESR claims that this magnetic base has a durability of up to 600 grams thanks to magnetic pins that can be pulled and parallel to precision. This dual lockdown design is designed to prevent accidental discharge when you move with your laptop in one hand and coffee or document on the other.

In addition to its magnetic features, MagMouse also brings practical features. This mouse supports Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4GHz connectivity, so it is compatible with Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, and Linux.

Its DPI can also be adjusted at six levels (from 800 to 4800), providing more control, both when editing photos and only surfing on the internet. ESR also says that its silent button reduces noise by 90% compared to regular mice, and its four-way scroll wheels facilitate navigation via large spreadsheets or video timelines.

Charging And Availability

Charging is another interesting part. Instead of requiring separate cables, MagMouse embeds a neat short USB-C cable on the back. Full charging takes about 45 minutes and provides up to 160 hours of endurance. ESR also claims that with just one minute of fast charging, this mouse can be used for four hours, which can be very useful during meetings.

The MagMouse is currently available at Kickstarter with an initial bid starting from 24 US dollars Rp400 thousand), a 32% discount from the final retail price of 36 US dollars. Available in black, white, and gray color options, each unit is equipped with a harmonious magnetic base.

Although the concept of magnetic mouse is not new, the ESR approach incorporating magnetic portability with built-in charging and double-mode connectivity is perfectly suited for all-mobile modern work needs.
