JAKARTA Meta, the company that oversees Instagram and Facebook, has reportedly cut the number of its employees. This time, the affected workers came from the Reality Labs division.
The company from Silicon Valey has confirmed the existence of workers affected by layoffs (PHK). According to a statement by Meta Spokesperson Tracy Clayton, this pruning is based on structural changes and the role of the affected team.
"Some teams at Oculus Studios are experiencing structural and role changes that impact team size," Clayton said, citing from The Verge. "This change is meant to help Studio work more efficiently on mixed reality (MR) experiences."
Despite making changes to the team working on MR technology, Clayton said that Meta remains committed to delivering the best content. Thus, Quest users' experience will not change.

It was not explained how many teams were affected and how many employees Meta cut. However, sources familiar with the matter said Meta also cut employees in Meta's internal gaming division for Quest.
One of the affected was a team for the development of the Superatural fitness game. The game was recognized by Meta at a cost of more than 400 million dollars (Rp 6.7 trillion).
