JAKARTA When launching camera support on Gemini Live, Google also introduced screen sharing capabilities. This feature was originally only available to Gemini Advanced users, but now no longer.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Google says that they get a lot of input about the expansion of the screen sharing feature. Therefore, Google brings its features to users for free.

"We've heard great feedback about Gemini Live with the camera and shared the screen, so we decided to take it to more people," Google said through its official account on platform X.

This is an unusual expansion, moreover Google has just launched this feature, along with the launch of a video camera on Gemini Live, on April 8. Although screen sharing capabilities are also shared with users for free, video camera support will remain exclusive.

This means that only paid users can use this feature. Despite Gemini Live's ability which is still limited to users with free Google accounts, the expansion of the screen sharing feature is quite an important improvement.

This feature was launched to help users discuss content in an application. For example, when there is interesting content on the X platform and users want to discuss it with Gemini, they can enable the Live feature of the big language model.

As long as this feature is enabled, users will not discuss using text, but directly in the form of sound. Gemini will see what the user displays on the screen and respond according to the questions asked.

The screen sharing ability is still rolling out in stages so not all users will see its capabilities directly on Gemini Live. So far, no Android restrictions have been disclosed by Google so its capabilities will be available to all Android models.
