JAKARTA Sphere, the giant 'round-shaped entertainment media' in Las Vegas, partnered with Google in featuring The Wizard of Oz. Through this partnership, Sphere will take advantage of Google's Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The Wizard of Oz will be displayed in August. To get the best visualization, Sphere will involve technicians, thousands of creators, programmers, and VFX artists. In addition, technology from Google Cloud and Google DeepMind will be involved.
Once the film is made, Sphere will use the Veo 2 and Imagen 3 models to improve resolution and expand visuals in the background. In addition, Google's AI model will be used to reconstruct characters that shouldn't appear simultaneously on the screen.
Sphere will also use Google Cloud's infrastructure to support large data and computing needs. The Wizard of Oz which will be displayed on this large screen will certainly process data up to 1.2 petabytes during the project.
If converted to terabyte, Sphere needs to process data of 1,200 terabytes. Therefore, Google's flagship technology, including the AI Gemini model, is urgently needed in this project.
"We need partners who are able to push the limits of our team's joint capabilities at Sphere Studios and Magnopus, and Google is the only company capable of answering these challenges on the LED screen with the highest resolution in the world," said Jim Dolan, Executive Chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment.
