Google Wallet Is Available For Children, Parents Can Still Supervise

JAKARTA - Google will launch Google Wallet for users of children in the United States (US), UK, Australia, Spain, and Poland.

With this availability, Google allows children to access digital payments on their Android devices with proper supervision by their parents or guardians.

Google Wallet for children will come in the next few weeks. With Google Wallet, children will be able to make payments, save tickets, company cards or whatever safely and easily.

"Disbursed in the next few weeks, children can use Google Wallet to securely pay in stores and store supported tickets such as event tickets, library cards, and gift cards in one area that is easily accessible," Google wrote in its official blog.

However, Google insists that security remains a top priority in this update. Where parents have complete control over the use of their children's Google Wallet.

Through Family Link, parents can give consent before adding a payment card, receiving transaction notifications via email, as well as the ability to track the latest purchases, or delete the card or disable their access.

"Children's payment cards can only be added with parental consent, and parents will receive emails whenever their children make transactions," he added.

With this feature, Google seeks to provide digital payment solutions that are safer and more practical for families, while ensuring that children can learn to use financial technology with parental supervision.
