JAKARTA Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang revealed that the humanoid robot revolution will occur sooner than expected, even in less than five years. This statement was delivered in a keynote address at the Nvidia developer's annual conference in San Jose, California, in front of thousands of participants, Tuesday, March 18.

In the event, Huang introduced a variety of new software designed to help humanoid robots navigate in the real world more easily. According to him, advances in artificial intelligence (AI) will soon be clearly visible when humanoid robots start roaming and being widely used in various industries.

"This is no longer a problem for the next five years, it's only a few years," Huang told reporters after his speech.

Huang explained that the manufacturing industry will be the first sector to adopt humanoid robots on a large scale. This is because the tasks at the factory are well defined and carried out in a controlled environment, making it easier to automate.

"I think this robot will enter the factory first. The reason is because the work environment is more maintained and the task is more specific," Huang said.

He also added that the economic value of humanoid robots in factories is very easy to calculate. According to him, the rental price for one humanoid robot is estimated at US$100,000 (Rp1.6 billion), a figure that is considered quite economic when compared to human labor.

Nvidia, which now has a valuation of nearly $3 trillion, continues to drive the development of AI and advanced computing for various industries. With rapid advances in AI and robotics, the presence of humanoid robots in various sectors seems to be just a matter of time.
