JAKARTA In September 2024, YouTube Music launched the Ask Music feature for mobile applications on Android. Now, the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered feature has been extended to apps for iPhone and iPad.

Ask Music features can find users of songs according to what they are looking for. The genre is also unlimited and YouTube Music users can combine two genres at once. Songs that are displayed on the screen can be played immediately or saved.

To use this feature, YouTube Music users only need to open the application as usual. After that, they will see a bar that says 'Ask whatever you like' with some inspiration.

Users can apply for genres such as indie in the 1980s, the saddest songs, beautiful synthpop, or even modern genres like the 2020s K-Pop ballad. To get music recommendations randomly, users can choose 'My shock'.

The button is part of a series of 10 genres suggested by YouTube Music. Although the suggestions shown look very simple, users can apply for a long and complicated prompt. Ask Music will continue to work thanks to its AI.

Usually, YouTube Music takes a few seconds to perform some songs. This feature only features the first three songs and the top songs will be played automatically. YouTube also provides the Add option to the Library.

Ask Music can be accessed as long as YouTube Music users have subscribed to premium accounts. However, not all users can feel this feature because YouTube has only presented its features in several countries such as the US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.
