JAKARTA - Meta apologized to Instagram users who recently reported that they saw negative content containing violence and pornography on its feed.
Not only apologies, Meta also said it had corrected their system errors which resulted in some Instagram users seeing violent content on their personal Reels clearly.
"We have corrected the errors that caused some users to view content on their Instagram Reels feed that should not have been recommended. We apologize for the error," a Meta spokesperson said in a statement shared with CNBC International.
Some users claim they see such content, even with the Instagram 'Sensitive Content Control' feature enabled to the highest moderation settings though.

Other users even say that they see sadistic videos, such as stabbing, deletion and castration, nudity, pornography without censorship and direct rape.
"To protect users, we delete most graphic content and add a warning label to other graphics content so people realize it may be sensitive or annoying before they click," the spokesperson added.
However, Meta added, the content may help users raise awareness about important issues such as human rights abuses, armed conflict or acts of terrorism.
