Sam Altman: OpenAI Knows How To Build AGI

JAKARTA Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been an interesting topic for years and this technology may turn to a higher level. That's what OpenAI CEO Sam Altman hopes.

In a post on his personal blog, Altman said that the development of General Artificial Intelligence (AGI) is getting closer. OpenAI, with a very long track record and research results, is believed to be revolutionary for this technology.

AGI is a term for an AI system with a much better ability than the AI model. This technology can match or even exceed the cognitive abilities of humans in various fields. In other words, this technology will be as intelligent as humans.

Since nine years ago, Altman said that OpenAI has believed in the presence of AGI. Researchers believe that this technology will have a profound impact on human history so they have been researching the technology for years.

"We started OpenAI almost nine years ago because we believe that AGI is possible," Altman said on January 6. "We want to find out how to build it and make it widely beneficial."

In this study, an AI model was born which continues to be released repeatedly and gradually throughout the world. Of the many processes OpenAI went through to develop advanced technology, Altman stated that his team was able to develop very great devices.

"We are now confident that we know how to build AGI as we have understood so far. We believe that, by 2025, we will probably see the first AI agent 'join the workforce' and change the company's results significantly," Altman explained.

Altman added that OpenAI has shifted their goals to even more sophisticated technologies, namely 'super intelligence in the true meaning of the word'. This technology is believed to accelerate various discoveries and scientific innovations on a large scale.
