JAKARTA - Google is now testing a new animation for the AI Overviews feature at Search Labs. This animation is called more attractive and dynamic, with a more integrated touch with Gemini branding, Google's generative AI model.

In this test, when the user activates the AI Overviews feature, the search process starts with a Generating... label in the upper left corner. Then, messages such as Looking this up and Putting it all together appear sequentially on the screen. The whole process is decorated with a blue and purple spot animation that emits light in the display box, creating more lively and futuristic visual effects.

In addition, the label at the top of the screen features a General AI is experimental message, which reminds users that this feature is still in the experimental stage. This display is also equipped with a special badge that connects the feature directly with Gemini, affirming a deeper integration with Google's latest generation AI model.

The new animation testing is believed to coincide with Gemini 2.0's planned launch. Previously, Google revealed that Gemini 2.0 would have a more sophisticated reasoning ability to handle complex topics, multiple-step questions, to advanced mathematical equations, multimodal searches, and programming.

Google also mentioned that this model will be rolled out more widely at the beginning of next year. This new animation tested may reflect these major changes.

Some users who have had early access report that this new animation feels slower than the stable version. However, this is understandable because the Gemini 2.0 model is still in the testing phase to ensure its reliability.

Currently, the new animation is not yet available to all users. However, if the test runs smoothly, this feature is likely to be released to the public soon.

This development is an interesting step from Google in improving user experience with more interactive and aesthetic AI technology.
