JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid emphasized the importance of international cooperation to support President Prabowo Subianto's efforts to transform digitally in the country.
Meutya said that international cooperation, especially with India as one of the leading countries in the field of digital technology, could be the main pillar in realizing modern and efficient digital governance in Indonesia.
"Government digitization is no longer an option, but rather an urgent need. Indonesia is ready to collaborate with India to adopt and adapt cutting-edge technology, especially in digital identity development," said Meutya when meeting with Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, Sandeep Chakravorty, quoted in his official broadcast Wednesday, January 1.
He appreciated India's willingness to share experiences related to the implementation of digital identity programs such as Aadhaar, an individual biometric identification number, which is packaged through 12 digits which serves as proof of identity and proof of address for Indians.
According to him, this technology is considered relevant to be applied in Indonesia as the main basis for improving public services, transparency, and government efficiency.
