JAKARTA Prior to the turn of the year, Meta routinely conducts reviews of the products, updates, and innovations they develop. When viewed from the results, this year seems to be going well.

In April, the company that oversees Instagram and Facebook launched advanced assistants that can be accessed for free. The assistant is named Meta AI and is available on Quest headsets, Ray-Ban smart glasses, to apps like WhatsApp.

Meta AI is developed based on Llama, Meta's Artificial Intelligence (AI) open-source model, which can be used across all applications belonging to the company. Therefore, Meta AI can also be accessed on Instagram social media applications.

"Meta AI is on the right track to become the most widely used AI assistant in the world by the end of this year, with nearly 600 million monthly active users," Meta said in its report released on December 27.

In line with AI developments, Meta has successfully launched advanced technologies such as a prototype Augmented Reality (AR) eyewear named Orion and the Virtual Reality (VR) headset that is a competitor to Apple Vision Pro, namely Quest 3S.

If you recall any other best innovation from Meta this year, Ray-Ban's smart glasses are on the list. These glasses were popular around the world because influencers made a trend of TikTok videos using these glasses.

These glasses are equipped with a very clear camera so many people are interested in buying them. A few months ago, Meta also added AI capabilities to these smart glasses so users could ask any questions.

Not only products, but applications under the auspices of Meta also show significant progress. Like WhatsApp, for example, Meta has made its calls more quality, both calls in private chat rooms and group chat rooms.

Another increase that is most visible this year is Threads. The application, which is integrated with Instagram, has won hundreds of millions of daily active users and has many new features, including insight, post scheduling, and several drafts.

On Instagram, Meta provides the ability to edit messages on Direct Messenger (DM) and embed favorite chats, similar to the embedded feature on WhatsApp. There are also Reels trial capabilities for creators who want to create new content.
