JAKARTA - Garena announced that it will again hold a second Garena Game Jam event. Garena Game Jam: Back For Round 2 will be present in Surabaya, East Java in January 2025.

This event will accommodate young Indonesian game developers from high school/vocational school students, students, and fresh graduates to compete to develop the game within 48 hours.

"Garena Game Jam is a form of Garena's commitment as a company with global experience and capability to continue to contribute to the development of the game industry in Indonesia," said Hans Saleh, Garena Indonesia Country Head in his official statement.

This event was also supported by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) of the Republic of Indonesia, the Indonesia Game Developer Exchange (IGDX), and the University of Ciputra Surabaya.

Garena Game Jam: Back For Round 2 will be present on January 24-26, 2025 at Ciputra University Campus, Surabaya, East Java. This event will adopt the same format and arrangement as last year, where participants will do a joint "jamming" to create a game within 48 hours.

Throughout the game development session, participants will also get mentoring from the experts presented by Garena, Komdigi, and AGI. The participants will be challenged to create a game that is able to answer the theme chosen as the main challenge.

Participants can register as a team or as individual/solo participants by sending CV and portfolios each until December 15, 2024. The participants who pass the selection will get an invitation to join Garena Game Jam: Back For Round 2.

The winner of Garena Game Jam: Back for Round 2 had the opportunity to bring home a total prize worth Rp. 30 million. In addition, they also had the opportunity to join the upcoming IGDX event with Garena Indonesia.
