JAKARTA Apple lost the antitrust case in Brazil and the App Store application store owner had to change the download policy on its device. The company must allow the sideloading system.
This giant technology company does not seem to mind the idea of sideloading for iPhone and iPad users in Brazil. However, Apple objected to the judge's decision that they should allow the sideloading system within 20 days.
In November, Brazil's regulator Cade stated that Apple had to pay 42 thousand US dollars (Rp665 million) if it passed from 20 days. However, Apple did not accept the deadline so they filed an appeal.
According to Apple, the verdict Cade gave was too complicated to work out in less than a month. The company stated that changing the download system on the iPhone would take quite some time. Fortunately, this appeal was accepted by the judge.

On Thursday, December 5, a Brazilian court ruled to cancel a court order forcing the company to activate the sideloading of iOS within 20 days. According to a higher judge, Cade's ruling was "disproportionate and unnecessary".
"Technical complexities of global regulatory changes and impacts of similar decisions in other regions, such as the European Union, strengthen the need for these changes to be discussed more deeply," said the judge who received Apple's appeal.
This ruling not only canceled Cade's demands to make iOS changes in a short time, but also a sideloading system change. Thus, Apple does not need to change the iOS system in Brazil as happened in the European Union.
However, there is still the possibility of this case being followed by Brazilian Regulators filing an appeal and conducting further investigations. At least, Apple has been free from rules that could change its operating system for now.
