Apple Sued By Former Employee For Alleged Privacy Violations

JAKARTA Apple is again sued by its former employees. If last June Apple was sued for lower-standard payment of female salaries, the company is now being sued for employee privacy violations.

Based on a Semafor report, citing from 9to5mac, the former employee filed a complaint against the detrimental 'video and physical electronic surveillance'. Plaintiffs who dared to bring Apple to legal channels have started working on advertising technology teams since 2021.

According to Amar Bhakta, the plaintiff in this case, Apple blocked its job prospects for reasons of privacy policy. This action is considered very detrimental because Bhakta cannot work outside by utilizing the Apple brand.

For example, Apple prohibits Bhakta from filling out public seminars discussing digital advertising. In the lawsuit, Bhakta also said that Apple had forced him to remove information on "working at Apple" from the LinkedIn page.

Bhakta was forced to edit her LinkedIn profile. While working at Apple, Bhakta has never used the brand to improve its career in the future. For him, this is so useless that Bhakta feels very disadvantaged.

In his lawsuit, Bhakta stated that his personal privacy was only maintained while using Apple's hardware, including the use of an office-specific iCloud. Unlike third-party accounts such as LinkedIn or maybe Instagram.

Although Bhakta's demands are very clear, this former employee may face difficulties as long as his legal lawsuit runs. The reason is, Bhakta does not have strong evidence to state that Apple violates privacy policies by conducting electronic surveillance.
