JAKARTA - Online gambling transactions are increasingly following technological developments. Not only through bank accounts or e-wallet, but now online gambling also uses crypto assets.

However, Head of the Commodity Futures Market Development and Development Bureau (CoFTRA) Tirta Karma Senjaya said that his party had not found any reports of online gambling transactions using crypto assets.

"So far, there has been no report or request from APH regarding online gambling using crypto assets," Tirta said on the sidelines of the Indonesia Blockchain Week (IBW) 2024 event on Tuesday, November 19 in Jakarta.

Tirta also emphasized that his party continues to cooperate with crypto industry players, related Ministries/Institutions, and law enforcement officials regarding this illegal transaction.

Meanwhile, if an online gambling transaction is found using crypto assets, he said he would coordinate with APH to follow up on the illegal action.

"Currently, we are continuing to coordinate with Law Enforcement Officials (APH). Usually, if there are indications of a violation, APH will ask for data, and we will follow up," Tirta continued.

As a follow-up to law enforcement, crypto assets used for illegal transactions will later be frozen or confiscated.

"If there are indications of a case, the asset will be frozen or confiscated based on a legal decision," he said.
