JAKARTA - This weekend, app developer Will Bishop launched Indie Charity Weekend, a new initiative involving 23 apps to donate 100% of its sales proceeds to various developer-choice charities.
Will Bishop previously held an app fundraiser in 2020 to help victims of forest fires in Australia, where he managed to raise more than US$300 (Rp46 million) and provide proof of donations. This time, he invited a number of developers of other apps to participate in similar charities.

Each developer contributes the proceeds from their application sales to different charities. Several supported charities include Make A Wish, St. Jude, and the American Cancer Society.
For the record, 100% net results (after a 15-30% cut from Apple) will be donated to the purchase of the app made over this weekend, November 16-17. Proof of donations will be provided a few days after the event ends.
If one of these applications catches your attention, this is a good opportunity to support charity while getting quality applications. This initiative received a positive response and is expected to be an inspiration for more similar actions in the future
