JAKARTA Amazon just released Kindle Colorsoft, a tablet for reading digital books in color, last October. Although not long ago released, this device has received many complaints from users.

Several buyers have received the Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition after pre-ordering and some of them claim to be disappointed. The reason is, the device for 279.99 US dollars (Rp4.4 million) has problems on the screen.

This first color Kindle is supposed to display lighting and evenly colored like a book, but there is a yellow strip at the bottom of the screen which makes the color a little different. Apparently, this problem occurs because of the software.

One user on Reddit, citing from The Verge, said that customer service officers had confirmed improvements to the problem. Although this problem is thought to have occurred due to software, some users have exchanged devices.

Amazon spokeswoman Jill Tornifoglio also confirmed the issue with Kindle Colorsoft. Tornifoglio stressed that only a small number of users reported the problem, but Amazon is still investigating and trying to fix it.

"We are aware of a small number of reports from customers who see the yellow band along the bottom of the screen. We are taking our product quality seriously and are investigating it," Amazon said when asked about the appearance of the yellow strip on the latest Kindle screen.

It is not known exactly how many users were affected, but Kindle Colorsoft got an average rating of 2.6 on Amazon's website. In the review section, some buyers say there is a problem with the device which makes them quite disturbed.
