JAKARTA After launching Fitbit Ace LTE, a smart watch specifically designed for children, Google will add a tap-to-pay feature for minors through the Google Wallet application.
To 9to5google, Google explains that this feature can be used by children as long as they use Android devices and are supervised by parents or guardians in Family Link. That way, they can pay easily in stores.
Although Google provides convenience for children, the company still provides restrictions. Minors who use Google Wallet can only make transactions in stores. They will not be able to make any payments online.
"This new experience is designed with prioritizing safety, and will allow parents to oversee the use of their children's cards including agreeing to new cards, removing cards easily, and looking at transaction history," Google said.

In terms of features and security, Google will add the same experience. Children need to operate Google Wallet's tap-to-pay features using device PINs, passwords, or biometric authentication such as fingerprints and facial recognition.
Before this feature can be used, parents must agree to a credit card or debit card added to the Wallet. Every time a child makes a transaction, his history can be viewed via Family Link. Parents or guardians can delete their cards remotely.
The tap-to-pay feature for children is still in the development stage. This feature will be added to Google Wallet starting next year with the first launch in the US. After that, the feature will begin to expand to various countries supporting Google payment applications.
