Samsung Releases Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition With Best Camera In Folding Series

JAKARTA - Samsung officially launched the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition in South Korea, which presents a thin and lightest design in the history of the Galaxy Z Fold series. This series improves its portability and convenience of use. According to reports, this device will also be released in China under the name Samsung Galaxy W25.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition will go on sale in South Korea on October 25 at a price of KRW 2,789,600 (around Rp. 31.5 million). This device is only available in one configuration with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. Based on the images released, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition comes in Black Shadow color.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition can be purchased through Samsung's official online store, as well as other online platforms such as KT, U+, and T Direct Shop. In addition, this device will also be sold offline through South Korean telecommunications operators, such as SK Telecom, KT Corporation, and LG U+.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition Design And Specifications

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is 10.6 mm thick and weighs 236 grams, making it 1.5 mm thinner and 3 grams lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. When opened, the main screen of this device measuring 8 inches with an aspect ratio of 20:18, offers the widest screen in the Galaxy Z Fold series history.

The 6.5-inch front screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio provides a usage experience similar to traditional phones. This device is also equipped with an aluminum armored frame and a front panel and a rear made of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition has a small difference compared to the Z Fold 6. For the first time in the Galaxy Z series, this Special Edition variant has a 200-megapixel main camera with OIS support.

This camera is accompanied by a 12 megapixel ultra-wide lens with autofocus, as well as a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. On the inside, there is a 4-megapixel resolution camera under the 4-megapixel resolution screen, while the front screen is equipped with a 10-megapixel selfie camera. All cameras, except those on the screen, support the recording of the 4K 60fps video, while the main camera is also capable of recording 8K 30fps videos.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset and runs the One UI 6.1.1 based on Android 14. This device will certainly receive an Android 15 based One UI 7.0 update in early 2025, as well as six additional OS updates and seven year security updates.
