JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi said he had strongly rebuked five e-wallet provider companies that facilitate online gambling transactions.

According to data from the PPATK received by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, there are five e-wallet companies that still facilitate online gambling. The transaction value in the 5 digital wallets reached trillions of rupiah.

The five e-wallet companies are PT Espay Debit Indonesia Koe (DANA), PT Visionet Internasional (OVO), PT Dompet Anak Bangsa (GoPay), PT Fintek Karya Nusantara (LinkAja), and PT Airpay International Indonesia (ShopeePay).

"E-wallet Espay has the highest transaction value, around Rp. 5.4 trillion with 5.7 million transactions related to online gambling," Budi said in his official broadcast. Based on PPATK data, 5 companies providing digital wallets or E-Wallets related to online gambling transactions are:

The main target of blocking e-Wallet accounts is online bookies. In addition, the flow of money to online gambling players will be the next target, "said the Minister of Communication and Information.

Therefore, the Minister of Communication and Information emphasized that E-Wallet provider companies must clearly record user accounts or electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC), in line with the provisions of personal data protection (PDP).
