Jakarta - Microsoft officially launched Microsoft Office 2024 for macOS as a standalone version that can be purchased with one payment. This provides an alternative for users who do not want to pay for Microsoft 365 subscriptions. This independent version of Office provides permanent access to productivity applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook.

While not getting regular feature updates like the Microsoft 365 version, this version is more efficient in the long term as it doesn't require subscription fees. In the latest release, Mac users get some improvements, including custom moves to shift left and right on Outlook using trackpad or Magic Mouse. Other features such as scheduled emails and focused inboxes have also been added.

Word 2024 brings a better session recovery, by reopening all previously open documents in the event of a sudden application closure. PowerPoint added the Cameo feature, allowing users to display live camera feed on slides, as well as the ability to create video presentations and insert Microsoft Stream videos from SharePoint.

Excel gets speed improvements, 14 new text and array functions, image functions that allow shooting from the internet, as well as dynamic graphs with dynamic arrays. Other features present in various apps include image insertion capabilities from Android devices, support for OpenDocument Format 1.4, and improvement of accessibility tools.

Microsoft Office 2024 is available in two variants: Office Home 2024 for 149.99 US dollars (Rp 2.3 million) which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, as well as Office Home & Business 2024 for $249.99 which adds Outlook and commercial use rights. This version requires macOS Ventura or later, with support for Intel and Apple Silicon processors, as well as a minimum 4GB memory and storage space of at least 10GB
