JAKARTA - Meta continues to improve the ability for its new social networking platform Threads to integrate directly with the Fediverse over the past year.

Instagram chief Adam Mosseri said that the Threads update would now allow users to edit Threads posts, and 15 minutes after the edit window closed, the new post would appear to the Fediverse.

"For those of you who have enabled the sharing feature to the Fediverse, this means your Threads post will now be shared to the Fediverse 15 minutes later," Mosseri said in an announcement on Threads.

In addition, for anyone who has chosen to share in Threads via the Fediverse, they will be able to see a detailed list of their followers from other servers and see the profiles of those people.

Thus, this capability will give people in Threads a better picture of their reach and audience at Mastodon and other apps.

But unfortunately, Fediverse and Threads support is still rather limited overall. Users still can't reply to replies from apps outside Threads, and there's no way to search for people on other servers from Threads.

"If you have any input or other advice for Threads, please let me know in reply," Mosseri concluded.

Some time ago, Meta announced that the microblog platform, which is integrated with Instagram, can now share its location via post.

In the latest Threads version, users will see a pin icon when they want to make a post. This icon is placed parallel to the feature of adding images, audio, to hashtags. When the pin icon feature is clicked, the user's location will be visible at the bottom of the username.
