JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information in collaboration with the Nexicorn Foundation presents the Next-Hub Global Summit 2024 which will be held on 23 September 25, 2024 in Nusa Dua, Bali.

Carrying the theme "Defrost the Tech Winter," the three-day event aims to raise the spirit of innovation and encourage startup growth amid the "tech winter" challenges that hit the global industry.

The event will be attended by 140 early-stage and later-stage start-ups, and meet more than 120 venture capitals from various parts of the world, such as Asia, America, and Europe, as well as more than 20 global enterprises.

"In recent years, we have been quite affected by the tech winter' phenomenon which brings serious challenges to the growth of the digital sector, especially start-ups. However, in the midst of these challenges, there are still so many real opportunities that are open to the eyes," said Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi at the NextHub Global Summit Press Conference on Tuesday, September 10.

Furthermore, Budi also emphasized the importance of developing sovereign artificial intelligence (AI) technology or sovereign AI. He invited all stakeholders, including startups, venture capabilities, and the government, to collaborate in building an AI ecosystem in Indonesia.

"We must be players who are taken into account in the supply chain of the global digital sector. The development of AI must refer to the values and interests of Indonesia," he said.

Next-Hub Global Summit 2024 itself will be a meeting place for startups, investors, and technology companies from various countries. Through this event, it is hoped that closer collaboration will be established and innovative ideas will emerge that can encourage the growth of Indonesia's digital economy.

"This event will be the 'bigest startup matching event in the region'. We hope that Next-Hub Global Summit 2024 can be a momentum for Indonesia to further strengthen its position as a center of innovation in the Southeast Asia region," he concluded.
