YouTube Music Loses Live Lyrics Feature In Many Songs

JAKARTA In August last year, YouTube Music launched a live lyrics feature to see the lyrics that run during the song play. This feature has never had a problem before, but now the feature is gone.

Reporting from 9to5google, this feature has been found to disappear from many songs over the past few times. YouTube Music still features song lyrics as usual, but no lyrics are running. Users will only see static lyrics that are not synchronous.

When the lyrics don't run and there's no row-by-line highlight, users will find lyrical text with a smaller font size. The color in the background is also solid or solid in one color, not the fuzzy cover as usual.

Actually, User Interface (UI) has been around since 2020 or since YouTube Music introduced song lyrics for the first time. Although YouTube Music launched live lyrics in the middle of last year, this UI can still be found in several songs.

However, the number of UIs tends to be small and is more dominated by live lyrics, unlike what is currently seen. Of the top 25 songs in the US, 13 of them have static lyrics. This problem can be seen in old songs and new songs with the support of MusixMatch and LyricFind.

This problem not only occurs in the YouTube Music mobile app for Android devices, but also on iOS. It seems, this problem occurs from the server side so that YouTube Music can display live lyrics again in some previously lost songs.

YouTube Music users on websites will not see this problem because the platform has not presented a live lyrics feature on the web version. Until now, YouTube has not provided a statement regarding live lyrics that have disappeared a lot from songs on its platform.
