JAKARTA Mac Mini, a small desktop computer that Apple is developing, will have a different design compared to the previous generation. Reportedly, the latest Mac Mini will lose one port.

According to a Bloomberg report, Mac Mini's latest design will have five USB-C ports and remove USB-A ports. Of the five USB-C ports available, three ports will be placed at the back, while two ports will be placed at the front of the machine.

Although the USB-A port will be removed in the latest Mac Mini model, Apple will continue to provide ports for ethernet, HDMI, and audio 3.5 mm. In addition, Apple will continue to make power supply an internal component.

This is a very different design compared to Mac Mini M2 and M2 Pro. The Mac Mini M2 model has four ports consisting of two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports. Meanwhile, the M2 Pro model has four USB-C ports and two USB-A ports.

In addition to changing the design of its newest small desktop computer, Apple will also replace the chipset from its Mac Mini. The company will jump over the M3 series and use an M4 chipset that is claimed to be more powerful than other chipsets.

The Mac Mini M4 will use aluminum materials with a higher size of 1.4 inches compared to the previous generation. This latest Mac Mini model will have a size close to Apple TV.

Just like the M2 model, Mac Mini will be produced into two models, namely the regular M4 and M4 Pro. Mac Mini M4 will be delivered by suppliers from China in September, while the M4 Pro will be delivered in October.
