Google Pixel 9 Presents Adaptive Touch Features, Increase Screen Sensitivity Automatically

JAKARTA - Google has just launched the Pixel 9 series. Although its official presentation lasts more than an hour, there are still some features that are not announced in detail. One of them is the Adaptive Touch feature recently discovered by users. It turns out that this feature brings a significant increase in touch screen sensitivity.

Adaptive Touch is a new feature embedded in Pixel 9 that allows the device to automatically adjust the touch screen sensitivity according to the user's environmental and activity conditions. This feature lies under Settings > Display > Touch sensitivity settings, and when activated, the touch screen sensitivity will automatically change to adjust to various factors such as wet fingers or screen shield installation.

In the tests carried out, Pixel 9 with Adaptive Touch showed a much better performance than the Pixel 8 Pro which did not have this feature, especially when used with wet fingers. On Pixel 9, scrolling with wet fingers feels normal and smooth, while on the Pixel 8 Pro there are jumps and random movements when trying to do the same.

Adaptive Touch is enabled by default on the Pixel 9 unit tested, including on the Pixel 9 Pro XL with standard firmware. This means users don't need to make additional settings to enjoy this upgrade. This feature is also expected to increase screen sensitivity when detecting screen shielding, something already done on Pixel 8, but with wider coverage on Pixel 9.

Although still new, many users have already responded positively to the Adaptive Touch feature. For those who often experience problems with less responsive touchscreens, especially when screen conditions or wet fingers, this feature provides significant solutions. If you are having problems with screen sensitivity on Pixel 9, Google also provides a new diagnostic menu under Settings > Display that can help in overcoming this problem.
