JAKARTA Paint 3D, an evolutionary application from Paint, will no longer get support from Microsoft. Starting next November, the 3D Paint app will be removed from Microsoft Store so that it can't be downloaded anymore. Not much information Microsoft provides regarding 3D Paint support to be discontinued. The company only adds a 3D Paint to a dedicated page for features or functions that are no longer used and informs alternative applications. "Paint 3D is no longer in use and will be removed from Microsoft Store on November 4, 2024," Microsoft said on the page containing a support note. "To view and edit 2D images, you can use Paint or Photos." Apart from using Paint and Photos, 3D Paint users are advised to use 3D applications when they want to view 3D content. Microsoft does not explain why 3D Paint support is stopped, but the lineup of features in the Paint app seems to be enough to answer. Over the past few years, the company has focused on improving their main Paint application. In fact, Microsoft added the best features of Adobe Photoshop and added various Artificial Intelligence-based features (AI).

Looking at the latest version of Paint, the 3D Paint application is increasingly lagging behind because the feature has not been updated. Apparently, 3D Paint is also not in demand by Windows users. Therefore, 3D Paint is included in Microsoft's grave list. 3D Paint is the latest victim from Microsoft. In December last year, Microsoft entered the Windows Mixed Reality feature into the list of features that will no longer be used. Even though the support was discontinued, this feature still works with Steam until November 2026.
