JAKARTA - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) revealed three main components that can cause research in a country to become quality.

Head of BRIN Laksana Tri Handoko explained that there are three quality research components, namely superior human resources, infrastructure, and budget.

Handoko said superior research human resources (HR) are now the focus of BRIN to develop. He said that his party had carried out a number of schemes, including S-2 and S-3 education for research, visibility professors and researchers, research internships, and withdrawal of diaspora through high-quality ASN recruitment, which amounted to 500 people per year. "We also provide almost all research infrastructure that we have never had," he said, quoting Antara. Yandoko emphasized the urgency of establishing research facilities in Indonesia, because good research infrastructure is also a good support for research and innovation. Therefore, he said, in this 29th National Rights commemoration, BRIN also inaugurated as many as 16 new research facilities spread across various regions.

As for the research budget sector, said Handoko, his party is working with the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) in preparing education endowment funds that can be managed independently. "So that the budget can be managed in multi-years, so it does not depend on the budget every year," he said. Through a number of efforts to create the three components of research, Handoko hopes that research and innovation can be a fundamental factor in the development of the nation in the future.
