JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information through the Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI), has built 4,988 4G Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) in the Outermost, Frontier and Outermost (3T) areas.
Thus, BAKTI Kominfo still has 630 more 4G BTS towers to be resolved, taking into account the geographical conditions and existing challenges.
Acting (Plt) Director of Telecommunication and Information Services for BAKTI's Business Entity, Mrs. Yulis Widyo Marfiah said the challenge from the rest of the 4G BTS development was because it was in the kamar area.
However, in accordance with the mandate of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, BAKTI is committed to completing all developments by the end of 2024.
"Currently, there are approximately 630 sites, which are still in a condition at that time, we are trying to resolve until the end of this year. Because at that time we were also targeted by the President," said Yulis on Friday, July 12.

Furthermore, Yulis also explained several stages that BAKTI will take in completing the construction of 4G BTS in the 630 kawar area, most of which (70 percent) are located in Papua.
In the first stage, BAKTI will build 4G BTS in 148 locations. Then in the second stage, it will be built in 220 more locations.
"And the third stage is approximately 180 locations. And the fourth stage is planned for 75 locations, of which this year it is hoped that BAKTI will be able to complete this macrospace condition," he added.
